We present a study of the influence of motion on magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. The motion sensitivity of two MR methods is compared: 2D Fourier transform (2D-FT) imaging and projection reconstruction (PR). In case of PR, both the filtered backprojection (FB) reconstruction method and the Gmitro reconstruction method were considered. The PR technique proved to be less sensitive to motion than 2D-FT imaging. Furthermore, the Gmitro algorithm was able to correct artifacts caused by translational motion, as long as the motion frequency was chosen to be lower than a critical frequency
