Wireless sensor networks have become an essential part of home and building automation, especially for energy management and health monitoring. This paper presents a distributed operating system based on the SOA architecture that manages all embedded devices in a home network at high level of interoperability and can solve many problems related to accessing the home network from Internet and from future networks like Smart Grid. The proposed system takes into consideration the limited resources of sensors as well as the issues of simultaneous multi-access, eventing, authorization, security and scheduling the online-time of sensors in order to reduce power consumption.
