For a large scale iron and steel enterprise, to optimize the purchasing cost without lowering the grade is difficult. To reduce the cost of hot metal is more effective than to reduce the purchasing cost. This paper uses the material distribution model combined with production process to change the hot metal cost of each BF, and then to reduce average cost of hot metal. The calculation results based on the real production data show that the model can reduce cost of hot metal effectively.
