We propose a distributed storage video on demand (VOD) system for delivering consumer generated video (CGV) content, which is stored in a user IP storage. It is important to know how the system manages video information stored in each IP storage and the status of the storage. We also propose a storage management technique implemented using an XML database management system (XDMS) as an additional function of an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) and evaluate the streaming performance of our VOD system. As a result, we found that the VOD server can maintain high video quality independent of the network delay between the VOD server and IP storage.
