It is the basis and the key for simulating the Air Defense System (ADS) to model scientifically its structure. According to the features of the ADS, the authors suggest a modeling approach for the ADS based on the multi-agent technology and then design a multi-agent model for the group/team in the ADS and all the factors in the group/team. The article maps the group, team and equipment involved in the ADS into corresponding multi-agent systems with the multi-agent simulation approach. From the perspective of agent, such a complex system as the ADS may be deeply understood, so that the air defense group, team and equipment may be represented consistently and thus have the same external interface, which lays a basis for simulating the behavior of the ADS.
