Ultimately phase noise tolerant multi-level modulation technique for 16-QAM and beyond was introduced as a advanced modulation format. Then orthogonal labeling scheme using various orthogonal optical properties such as in optical codes, optical phases as well as multilevel modulation formats, were discussed for optical label switched networks.
