A permanent magnetic synchronous motor(PMSM) used in pure electric vehicle(PEV) is introduced in this paper. The merits of high efficiency, wide speed range, high overload ability are required in PEV. An interior permanent magnetic synchronous motor is chosen, which is small volume, light in weight, simple in structure, high efficiency. The magnetic field of a prototype was simulated and calculated by finite element method(FEM). Then, the no-load and armature winding flux density curves of air gap were got.
