This paper proposes a novel cognitive architecture for large scale wireless ad hoc networks based on the application requirements and networking characteristics. The nervous system and social organization models are adopted in the proposed cognitive architecture. A detail description about the functionality and topology of the cognitive architecture is given, and the node model is designed.
