A new single neuron model of hippocampal CA1 pyramidal neuron based on the traditional HH model, which has one sodium, one calcium, and five potassium channels, was analyzed in this paper. The model was based on HH-type formalism and the action potentials were generated by current injection. The stimulus currents were added to the model, then the transmembrane potential and ionic currents were generated with different currents, and the two internal Ca pools had great effect on the Ca-dependent ionic gating following the action potentials. The results show that the response under subthreshold stimulus or weak signal can be detected with the presence of noise. Furthermore, the results also show that the two Ca-dependent K currents ICT and IAHP are mediated by [Ca,1]in and [Ca,2]in, respectively.
