This article firstly introduces a new architecture of two-hop-relay WCDMA cellular system with congestion control, and builds the analytical model of this system via multidimensional Markov chains. Then based on this model, we get the average downlink transmission rate and the call blocking probability of packets of the system respectively. Finally, through numerical calculation, we analyze the impact of the various parameters on the performance of the two-hop-relay WCDMA cellular system with congestion control, Our results show that comparing with the two-hop-relay WCDMA cellular system without congestion control, the two-hop-relay WCDMA cellular system with congestion control can decrease the call blocking probability further, while preserve the improvement for the average downlink transmission rate.
