At universities, music appreciation teaching is an important part within college students' quality education. It is a significant approach to improve music culture of college students in non-music specialty. The teaching of music appreciation should make good use of internet advantages to unfold teaching activities. The present paper firstly discussed the deficiencies of current music appreciation teaching at universities. Then the advantages of teaching based on internet and its theories were produced. Based on the above contents, the strategies of music appreciation teaching within internet-based environment were introduced, involving emphasizing students' central role, stressing study in the context, accentuating multi-level learning, using internet as learning environment, and reinforcing the cooperation in study.
