With the rapid construction of the smart grids in China, the BPL systems seem to be a very strong potential scheme for transmitting data with the configuration of the power lines and utilities users. However, one of the key technologies has not been solved. That is resource allocation, which plays a very important role in the real communications systems. This paper gave an overall introduction of the resource allocation algorithms until now. Based on the review, the paper pointed out the future research points.
