Adapted and updated from two prior volumes, this is a recently published book edited by Bernard de Fornel and Jean-Paul Louis, who have well-known experience on research, teaching, and industrial applications. All chapters emphasize modeling, including nonlinearities such as saturation. The book analytically explains measurements and identification of the ac electrical machine parameters and the development of deterministic and stochastic state observers. The book consists of a general introduction and eight chapters. An authors list, affiliations, index, and references are also included. The book is a valuable research reference for advanced undergraduate courses, graduate courses, and for students, researchers, and industrial engineers in the field of variable speed drives.
