High definition (HD) multimedia streaming among consumer electronics is the key issue in the wireless home network. This service can be achieved by emerging IEEE 802.11n with enhanced throughput, coverage, and quality of service (QoS). These high performance features become infeasible when 802.11n coexists with the legacy 802.11a/b/g/e. Therefore, we propose a simple yet effective wireless virtualization solution to meet the QoS requirements in various coexistence scenarios of home networks. Moreover, it is practically applicable with no modification of consumer devices and the standard itself.
