The support of the OGC standard in ArcGIS Server 9.3 makes ArcGIS Server receive more attention and promotion. As a result of the universality of OGC standard, the distributed platforms based on ArcGIS Server can realize the further sharing of geographic information data on the Internet. This paper discussed emphatically the design of a distributed geographic information service platform based on ArcGIS Server 9.3 and OGC standard, the construction of the platform and the role of each part, as well as the service application in different forms.
