The main problem of cooperative operation in DLF is resource sharing and resource unified management under heterogeneous environment. Based on the theory of grid and its application, a content service grid for digital library federation (DLF) is constructed, and the components and their functions of every grid layer are analyzed. Then a method of resource sharing based on publish/subscribe notification mechanisms and concept retrieval models is presented, and a cooperative service architecture for DLF based on resource sharing is proposed. Finally, a sample of content retrieval based on grid is demonstrated.
