One of the major decisions facing any long-time IEEE Member has finally come my way recently, whether to keep ones voluminous collections of journals. It's a call made even tougher by the general state of mind when packing up to move house, two dozen more boxes to find and fill, each weighing enough to challenge the rigidity of the available containers. Well, I actually managed to suppress the voices (both internal and external) who were screaming “dump,” but only in the case of the MTT transactions, which in my collection stretch back to 1981. Personally, I still like looking up MTT references in my own library, mainly because so often as I fl ick through the musty pages I find one or two other papers of interest; sometimes even greater interest than the one I was originally seeking.
