Due to the difference between rural and urban and regional disparity of computer basic education produced at their middle school period, computer application level of the freshmen make a great difference. According to this situation, corresponding skill survey is designed. Data obtained from the survey is analyzed by K-means cluster algorithm. And the students are classified into three types according to their master degree of computer application. The study group is composed of the students selected from each type. This can promote them to study from each other and draw the strong points of others to offset their own weakness. The teachers can adjust the emphasis of their teaching to different classes according to the master degree of computer application of the classes. Good teaching effect is achieved by using this teaching method in Basics Course of Computer.
