This paper presents a new hybrid simplex-genetic structure to improve classification's performance. In this method the simplex local search optimizes some parameters of GA in each generation to perform better. To evaluate the performance of this approach, it was executed on 9 well-known databases. With respect to experiments results, in most cases this method performs better than the simple GA in terms of classification accuracy.
