Wireless-Optical Broadband Access Network (WOBAN) is a new type of access network which combines wireless and optical transmission system, in WOBAN wireless part is general a wireless mesh network. In this paper the optimization design of WOBAN is discussed. A throughput-aware channel assignment algorithm (CA- T) for the wireless mesh network is proposed to realize resource efficient use, adopting the algorithm channel assignment is achieved according to throughput balance. CPLEX is a software tool package to solve the LP problem and the channel assignment algorithm can be described as an Integer Linear Program (ILP). Calculation result shows the access network performance can be improved using the algorithm.
