Fiber seaweed Rhodophyceae class has a high of potential to be developed as a paper-making raw material is Gracilaria verrucosa. Gracilaria is very easy to be cultivated and the harvest time is relatively short time. Gracilaria verrucosa showed that this species is easily cultivated in the aquatic environment with fluctuating conditions. Gracilaria verrucosa has adaptability on light very well. Paper is an indispensable requirement for all people in the world. Paper is a body composed mainly by cellulose fibers, in addition to other auxiliary materials. Paper-making use the cellulose in pulp from the tree and it cause shrinking forest. One effect is the shrinking forest area that will affect the environmental balance. Environmental balance is closely related to the global warming issue is increasingly. Seaweed revitalization through seaweed cultivation on a large scale which will be promoted, especially in this paper industry, will improve the welfare of farmer if the processing technology (post-harvest) of seaweed can immediately be realized in the business world of Indonesian seaweed. The paper industry also will require workers who come from local communities, so that people can increase income and be able to drive the economy of Indonesian society.
