We have built an agent-based model, namely DeciEpi, to help enterprise managers to understand relationships among business performance, human capital management (HCM), and potential epidemics. The organizational setting, business processes, human performance, process of attrition of the team, processes of human capital management (recruitment and training), and business performance in DeciEpi are described. A small world-based epidemic model, including the reconstruction of relationship network in the team, is incorporated into DeciEpi. The simulation results demonstrate that DeciEpi can help enterprise managers understand how human capital policies affect business performance, and how the possible epidemics affect HCM and business performance.
