EDF (Electricité de France) is a more than 60 years old company. Its main business is to generate electricity from nuclear, hydraulic, fossil fired power plants and wind turbines, etc. Most of them are in service since decades. Therefore, the knowledge should be preserved: deep knowledge about how the plants have been built as well as dynamic knowledge about the process operation. We have structured deep knowledge in ontology. The necessity to transmit formal knowledge has led us to introduce trees of Porphyry in our ontology.
