One of the main concerns in controlling the output voltage of boost converter is keeping the output voltage in a desirable value under the variations of load and parameter uncertainties. This paper presents a control method which is based on sliding mode control (SMC). One of the major features of this method is its ability to provide fast error convergence and strong robustness. The try is to provide a constant level output voltage while keeping the power factor value close to unity, in the presence of unknown parameter uncertainties, while considering the non-minimum phase problem. Such uncertainties are identified using the sliding mode parameter observer, while the main regulation problem is addressed via the sliding mode control. The mathematical analysis of the circuit under sliding mode control is presented first. To prove the mathematical results of the method, the circuit is simulated under the suggested control method utilizing MATLAB/Simulink software. The simulation results verify the ability of the suggested method to control the output voltage and to keep the circuit power factor near to unity.
