In order to conquer uncertainty and disturbance, a reduced robust control strategy based on linear matrix inequality (LMI) was proposed for a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) system. And then the structure singular value (SSV) μ analysis method was utilized to testify the robust stability of proposed controller. The simulation results demonstrated that the control method could maintain the oxygen excess ratio (OER) better at the desired value and guarantee stable operation of the system when the vehicle running process was simulated. The comparison with other control strategies verified that the proposed method had superiority and valuable robust stability margin was obtained by μ analysis.
