A new method for joint direction of arrival (DOA)-direction of departure (DOD) estimation in bistatic MIMO radar is proposed. This method, based on the decomposition of the 2D direction finding into double 1D direction finding, uses the ESPRIT method to estimate the DOD and the Root-MUSIC for the DOA estimation. Some simulation results are presented to verify the efficiency of this approach.
