When the wind speed is between the cut-in and the rated wind speed, the generator control aims at maximum energy capture. The third-order nonlinear model of the Permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG)-based wind power conversion system (WECS) is established. In order to ensure maximum energy capture under rated wind speed, firstly, the nonlinear model is linearized around different operating points, and secondly, robust controller is designed for each operating point, a PMSG-based wind power conversion control system is obtained, using gain scheduling control method. Finally, simulation results indicate that the H_∞ Robust gain scheduling controller can effectively achieve maximum energy capture under rated wind speed. The H_∞ Robust gain scheduling controller could improve the robustness and global superiority of the system.
