Considerable interests have been placed upon the statistical modeling of target glint because of the design and performance evaluations of vehicle seekers employing glint reduction algorithms. We present a statistical model where glint can be described by the discrete fractionally differenced Gaussian noise (fdGn) model through the statistical analysis of both the glint of an aircraft and the measuring glint. The glint of an aircraft is modeled by the Poynting vector method combined with the components technique using primitives to provide the necessary simulation data. Because the fdGn is easy to produce, it is possible for the fdGn to provide a terse and valid way for glint simulation.
