To obtain the transmission characteristics of a magnetorheological clutch, the torque transmission model of the clutch is deduced based on the Bingham model considering the uniformity of magnetic flux density in the working gap, the distribution of magnetic flux density is analyzed by the magnetic circuit finite element method, the influence rules of structural factors on magnetic flux density are discussed. The results indicate that the parameters including coil current, distance between disks and the thickness of disk flange have great influence on the magnetic flux density, while the effect of fillet is little, inner diameter of the disk determines the change rate of the radial magnetic field of the plate.
