The model of Web Service and Geographic Information Services Specification of the OGC is introduced in this paper firstly; then the difference of the RPC and ROA is analyzed, the properties of the REST and the detail of the Restlet architecture are expounded. The detail of the advantages of GIS information sharing which used the REST design principles is indicated. Finally, the design process which used the REST design principles is described.
