Concurrency control is a significant research problem of real-time distributed web applications, collaborative office systems and distributed database management systems. Some techniques have been implemented to solve the concurrency problems mainly on distributed database systems, but besides data resource, few have considered about the other resources concurrency in the process of Web development and application. In this paper, we propose a concurrency control strategy to solve the concurrent problem of resource access with in all kinds of types by using resource registration mechanism under J2EE-based multi-tier architecture. The control strategy is based on the resources generalization concept and resolves the issue of concurrency conflict according to the strategy warehouse, which provides a flexible control mechanism by separating the lock mechanism of concurrency control from the business logic in system. An implementation of this strategy reveals that the concurrency control strategy can be easily added into the system without disrupting the code of existing web application system developed by J2EE multi-tier architecture, which shows that the resource-oriented concurrency control strategy proposed is promising and worth studying.
