The intelligent network (IN) management is one of the key technologies in the IN research. We introduce a method for the design and implementation of the service management point (SMP) in the IN service management system (SMS) based on an object oriented paradigm. After describing the SMP's management requirements, we further discuss the SMP's design principles, functional structure, definition of managed objects and the implementation schema.
