This paper introduces the characteristics and benefits of GPRS and ad hoc networks briefly. A novel design of a wireless ad hoc network remote data acquisition system based on GPRS is proposed. The paper introduces the implementation of the system and relevant techniques thoroughly. The system performance analysis and advantages and disadvantages of this system are presented.
