Responsibility Driven Architecture is an approach to architecture development that explores the questions of when architectural decisions should be made, by what process, and by whom. Our research attempts to answer these questions from the perspective of Real Options Theory and in doing so proposes a framework that can help improve architectural design; for good measure it has also provided an opportunity to re-frame the role (and relevancy) of the architect in Agile development.
