This technical note should be read in conjunction with the paper by McComb and Schmidt1 which describes the Engineering and Scientific Subroutine Library through Release 2. In this technical note, which is an addendum to that paper, we briefly describe some of the new features in Release 3 and indicate some of the techniques used to optimize vector and parallel performance.
