Nowadays, steam turbine propulsion system is no longer the only one for LNG carriers. With the rapid rise of fuel price, the selection of LNG carrier propulsion systems from the profit point of view has become more and more important. With a purely mathematical solution and ¿the charter nomogram¿, the paper analyses and compares the profitability of two different LNG propulsion systems ¿A¿ and ¿B¿. It can supply some theoretical guidance for the future building of our country LNG carriers.
