Quantitative assessment of generating capacity adequacy is one of the basis procedures used in power system reliability studies. This assessment is usually done using analytical techniques. It can, however, be performed using Monte Carlo simulation, which can include important additional parameters not available in the analytical approaches. The paper presents analgorithm for generating capacity adequacy study for the reliability test system lEEE RTS, based on Monte Carlo simulation.
