In order to investigate the flow field and heat transfer in a channel with one square rib on upper wall and two on lower wall, standard k - Â¿ turbulence model and enhanced wall function was employed. The influence of the conductivity ratio ks/kf (solid/fluid) on the heat transfer around the rib surface was explored. The results show that the maximum local Nusselt number appears at the upwind sharp corner of the rib surface while the minimum one appears at the root. The local Nusselt number at the same position of the rib surface increases as the inflow Reynolds number increases. The conductivity ratio has influence on the heat transfer around the rib surface only when it is small. The whole results can be a reference for engineering design.
