Offshore wind energy has become an increasingly attractive option due to the enormous energy potential associated with the vast offshore areas. The investigation of offshore wind turbines characterized by large-scale involves high performance wind turbine simulator, especially in the case of the development of optimal control strategy. Because of the increasing rotor size and the spatial load variations along the blade, it is necessary to develop new wind speed model, mathematical model of blades and control strategy. In this paper, we propose three-dimensional wind speed model with height according to von Karman power spectrum as the input of the simulator, assuming that the wind model undergoes the same turbulence, which makes it possible to choose correlation wind sources. We use layering technique on the basis of quantizing vortex to receive layering wind speeds as the input of layering mathematical model of the huge blades. These models could be implemented on the structure of the simulator to develop the new control strategy for real time.
