Inspecting of castings refers to the inspection of its internal quality. Nowadays, in the course of the inspection and classification of middle thickness Pb alloy castings, the equipments being used have limitations, which rely too much on human manual work which will affect the health of the workers and the inspection accuracy and classification efficiency are low. With the aid of machine vision recognition technology, the automatic inspection and classification system for small castings developed by the author resolved above problems successfully, inspection and classification operation realize automation entirely, thus, inspection accuracy and classification efficiency improved greatly.
