Our research goal is to construct a novel spatial information framework for smart urban environment. The aim is to set up a system architecture which can demonstrate how urban dwellers make use of mobile platform and context-aware services in public settings by means of dynamic place information. The proposed urban computing framework with spatial information services is firstly introduced in this paper. To accomplish the goal, related works are studied and analyzed in the aspect of required components to construct urban computing environment. A new frame work composed of spatial data model, hardware and software is introduced. At the end, a prototype and a test-bed are constructed to demonstrate our idea.
