The small color-difference data obtained by printed sample were used to analyze and evaluate the color-difference forecast performance of CAM02-LCD, CAM02-SCD and CAM02-UCS color-difference formulae based on color appearance model, CIECAM02, the result was compared with the evaluation of CIE L*a*b*, CIEDE94, CMC (1:1), CMC (2:1) and CIEDE2000 classical color-difference formulae based on CIE L*a*b* color space. The conclusion indicates that performance of color-difference formulae based on CIECAM02 color appearance model precede the color-difference formulae based on CIE L*a*b* color space as a whole, but the color-difference forecast performance of each color-difference formula was disunity in different tone fields, further optimization will be necessary.
