In this work the method of selection of software of management systems of content (CMS) the most relevant to requirements of different types of resources created by information systems is proposed. At the same time the effort to sum up in aggregated form the requirements to Web resources of various orientations (the site-presentation, a theme site, blog, portal, community site, etc.) is made. On the other hand, the functions of the most popular CMS in order to highlight their groups and use as evaluation criteria are analyzed. It is used to determine the best correspondence of content management system to requirements of Web resources that are possible to create with certain CMS.
