In order to increase software development productivity of power system graphical application and data viewing tools, component-based graphics system has been dedicated and developed and presented in this paper. The chief advantage of component-based power system graphics system is featured by its capability to speed software development and increase software reusability, therefore time-to-market of applications and data viewing tools can be greatly reduced. Both graphics system model and framework and several power system graphic components especially curve component are detailed introduced and presented. These components are all commonly used in power system applications and search tools.
