This paper describes a feasible auto-tuning method of a novel DC brushless servo drive system which introduces a fuzzy-algorithms based controller. This is basically considered as an advanced technique to adjust two gains of a PI compensator under the principle of providing on the basis of additional reference generator, observer and fuzzy-reasoning controller with a general-purpose speed control loop including a PI regulator. It is possible to vary the gains so as to be an optimum level through repeating 10 responses or more step responses in relation to variations of load inertia and mechanical vibration in addition to control characteristic fluctuations. It is proved that a novel DC brushless servo drive motion system can be automatically tuned so as to provide an optimum response if it is a completely unstable state on the basis of the experimental results
