A new temperature-test method for induction motors is described, in which two identical machines are connected electrically together, with their losses supplied externally. No other loading machine is required, nor have the test motors to be mechanically coupled. Experiments on laboratory-size machines have shown that the test simulates a true temperature run with a high degree of accuracy.
