A special-purpose program is described for simulating power-system dynamic response. The program allows detailed study of the effects of generators, excitation systems and turbine-governor systems on power-system transient and dynamic stability. The main feature, which has been emphasised in the program design, is flexibility in the modelling of the generators and their controllers. The program is very efficient for repetitive studies of small or moderate sized systems, and allows for a high degree of user interaction.
