Presents the first results of a feasibility analysis concerning an air- and spaceborne real-time SAR processor for strip and ScanSAR mode. The extended chirp scaling approach is used for both operation modes. Using dedicated digital signal processors, a special hardware can be developed with a power consumption of less than 250 W
