In order to enhance the quality of teaching, the teaching evaluation has become a common way for strengthening the teaching management in a lot of colleges and universities in our country. However, the scientific nature and effectiveness in practice are constantly questioned mainly because the teaching evaluation is affected not only by the studying initiative, interest, and teaching environment but also by other factors, such as the teaching attitudes, teaching methods and the class contents. Compared with Donghua University and MIT, this paper revealed the difference of the design concept, the indicators and the purpose of teaching evaluation system between Chinese and foreign universities, which would further standardize this activity, and provide a new idea to improve our teaching evaluation system.
