We for the first time present designs of high-Q photonic crystal nanocavities in the cases previously rendered ldquoimpossiblerdquo, including an ultra-high Q dual-polarized nanocavities, high Q/V cavities based on low-index materials, and high-Q air-band-mode cavities.
